MINI Electric and Mini Electric Collection: Charged with Big Passion

MINI Cooper, under the BMW Group, will not miss the opportunity to create their stylish electric cars. Launched in June 2022, MINI Electric offers two variants, which are MINI Electric and MINI Electric Collection. The MINI Electric is an iconic form of MINI and retains all historical values but is added with a touch of the future. MINI Electric; Iconic Driving Experience

This MINI Electric comes with power and torque that is similar to the MINI Cooper S 3-Door. The engine performance is 184 DK at 7,000 RPM and 270 Nm of torque at 100 to 1,000 RPM.

Although the power and torque figures are similar to the Cooper S 3-door, this MINI Electric has an instantaneous power-torque distribution character, creating a much more pleasant sensation.

Unfortunately, the MINI limits the maximum speed of the MINI Electric. This car can only go up to 155 km per hour to maintain the battery life. In terms of driving modes, like a conventional MINI Cooper, the MINI Electric comes with a variety of driving modes ranging from Normal, Sport, Eco, to Eco+. With Sport mode, the MINI Electric is more responsive in power distribution, more agile in steering, and has better suspension. Meanwhile, in Eco+ mode, the MINI Electric will work without the AC feature. In this mode, the mileage can be extended by about 20%.

MINI Electric is as iconic as the conventional models of MINI Cooper, but with minimum emission to drive in the city.

Electric Car for Urban Lifestyle

When talking about electric cars, we should not leave out discussing battery performance. The MINI Electric, on paper, carries a battery that is fitting in its class.

MINI embeds a 32.6 kWh gross capacity battery, the original capacity used optimally is 28.9 kWh. With this battery, MINI Electric claimed to have 232 km mileage with Eco+ mode. MINI Electric can run in Normal/Sport mode with a maximum distance of 180-190 km. Meanwhile, with Normal or Sport mode, our MINI Electric tests the maximum mileage in the range of 180-190 km.

With this relatively small mileage, the MINI Electric is more appropriate if it is plotted as a daily car in urban areas.

Classic MINI Cooper Exterior with Modern Touch

When viewed from the exterior design, this iconic car comes with the base of the MINI 3 Door. The MINI Electric embeds the letter 'S' emblem on the bonnet and hood accents that resemble the Cooper S model. Turning to the side, the dimensions of the MINI Electric seem identical to the Cooper 3-door. But if you look at the specs, it turns out that the electric version is about 26 mm shorter, but 18 mm taller. It overall has a similar design, with some new additions to the exterior sector. Such as a more modern bumper and grille, and fog lamps replaced with vertical air curtains. Then, the LED headlight housing is now available in black, and the new side scuttles design, and rear bumper give a distinctive electric vehicle appearance. To indicate this is electric, MINI gives yellow accents.

Other than that, what makes this MINI Electric different from the conventional MINI Cooper is the use of the rim model. MINI embeds ring 17 rims with a futuristic design and is wrapped in 205 profile 45 tires.

Luxurious and All-Digital Interior

Meanwhile, the interior of MINI Electric has improved technology and interesting features. Many features and design elements are new, but maintain similar dimensions as the conventional Mini Cooper S, including the trunk. The MINI new steering wheel design with integrated multifunction buttons in piano black with a new instrument cluster and a black panel design is also applied to the 8.8-inch screen in the MINI Electric. Indoor and outdoor air vents come with a modern design. Complete with new decorations for the horizontal display dashboard panel, as well as new ambient light colors that are more attractive and expressive to illuminate the cabin.

MINI Electric retains the classic MINI Cooper iconic design that serves as a refresher for many electric cars' exterior that looks “futuristic” and “Tesla-like”. More importantly, MINI Electric is equipped with a good performing engine just like their conventional models and a reliable battery for urban and high-class lifestyles.
