Review of the 2021 Porsche Panamera

1. Hybrid Escalation

Porsche has been tight-lipped on the Panamera Turbo S E-future. Hybrids that said, we expect the model to return for the 2022 model year, likely with a gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain combining the 620-hp V-8 from the standard Turbo S trim and an electric motor, which should push the powertrain past the 700-hp mark a significant increase over the already powerful 677-hp 2020 model.

Porsche continues to offer a gasoline-electric hybrid version of the Panamera in the guise of the less muscular and new-for-2021 4S E-Hybrid grade. Porsche Panamera combines a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V-6 engine with an electric motor to produce a combined 552 horsepower. According to Porsche, this equates to a 3.5-second sprint to 60 mph with launch control active.

The 14-kWh battery pack in the 2020 Panamera E-Hybrid variants is replaced by a bigger 18-kWh battery pack. Although an official range estimate from the EPA for the 4S E-Hybrid has yet to be released, we anticipate the revised plug-in hybrid Panamera to outperform its 2020 rivals' 14-mile EPA-rated range.

2. What are The New Addition

The Panamera has been updated in terms of its performance enhancements such as additional battery capacity, and the top-of-the-line Turbo S now has a more powerful V-8. Despite the mentioned update on its ability, the 2021 Panamera has a similar appearance to the 2020 model. Those with sharp eyes, on the other hand, will notice a few minor alterations to the car's interior and appearance.

Porsche Panamera has a revamped steering wheel, a changed rear fascia, and updated taillights, the latter of which more closely resembles the Porsche 911's full-width forehead. The optional sport design front fascia from last year is now the standard arrangement, giving the 2021 Panamera a more aggressively styled mug.

Those wishing for even more menace may choose the redesigned and much angrier-looking sport design front fascia for the 2021 vehicle. Lane-keeping assist and traffic sign recognition are now standard on all Panamera models starting in 2021. Rear-wheel steering, active roll bars, and carbon-ceramic brakes are all standard features of the model.

3. Pricing tags

The price of the 2021 Porsche Panamera is yet unknown. Nonetheless, it is expected that the new car's starting price to be similar to the 2020 model, which starts at $88,550. Of course, even limiting the Panamera's choices menu will shave thousands off the price tag. Those with considerably more money should budget around $200,000 for a fully outfitted Porsche Panamera Turbo S.

4. Fresh-off-the-Boat V6 Appearance

The turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 that powered the base 2020 Porsche Panamera is no longer available. A variation of the Panamera 4S's twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V-6 takes its place. Although its 325 horsepower is five less than the previous engine's 330 horsepower, the Panamera's new basic powertrain should outperform its predecessor in everyday driving.

5. Improved V8 Power

Even though Porsche's twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 has never been short on power, the German automaker has opted to add a few more horses to the engine's inventory for 2021. The 2021 Panamera GTS generates 20 horsepower more than its 2020 version, with 473 horsepower. Even better, Porsche boasts that the model has a revised throttle calibration that increases accelerator response.

Unfortunately, the Turbo grade is no longer available in the Panamera model line. This is a minor setback, considering the 2021 Porsche Panamera Turbo S, which boasts 620 horsepower 70 more than the previous Panamera Turbo. The extra power comes from a variety of improvements to the engine's internals, including a lower compression ratio and new fuel injectors.

Regardless of any Panamera model, they offer a smooth ride, great handling, and exhilarating acceleration. Hybrid models can also reduce exhaust emissions from a normal trip. The 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission provides quick changes, but it may be a little noisy at low speeds. All-wheel drive is available as an option on the basic model, but it is standard on all higher models.
