2023 Polestar 3; Design and Dimensions

Embodying minimalist Scandinavian design, the Polestar 3 boasts a new aerodynamic profile and a robust stance. Measuring 4,900mm in length and 1,614mm in height, it positions itself as a substantial vehicle in the electric SUV landscape. Despite its size, the 2023 Polestar 3 prioritizes aerodynamics with features like a redesigned front grille, retractable door handles with proximity sensors, and distinctive 21-inch wheels.

The aerodynamic focus is evident in the roofline resembling a smooth estate and the integrated aero wings on the front end. The rear spoiler features a second aero wing, and the rear bumper incorporates an aero blade, ensuring optimal airflow for this large SUV. Inside, the Polestar 3 offers a luxurious ambiance with MicroTech-coated surfaces, certified leather, and wool upholstery. The integration of NVIDIA DRIVE as its AI brain and Qualcomm Snapdragon Cockpit Platform for the infotainment system ensures a high-tech driving experience.

Infotainment Innovation

The centerpiece is a large 14.5-inch infotainment screen running on the Android Automotive OS in collaboration with Google. Over-the-air (OTA) updates guarantee continuous software enhancements for users. The Polestar 3 maintains the comfort of its predecessor, the Polestar 2, with adjustable seating and a spacious panoramic roof. The rear seats are flexible, sliding forward or backward, and folding to create more legroom or cargo space. The trunk provides 484 liters of storage, complemented by a small frunk (32 liters) with the seats folded.

Performance and Efficiency

Powered by a standard 107kWh battery pack, the Polestar 3 boasts an impressive range of up to 379 miles on the WLTP cycle. With bidirectional charging support and DC fast charging reaching speeds of up to 250kW, it stands out as one of the fastest-charging electric vehicles in the market. Charging from 10-80% takes approximately 30 minutes, adding over 265 miles of range. Notably, the Polestar 3 can achieve a 100-mile range in just 10 minutes with a 350kW fast charger. AC charging, however, peaks at 11kW, a feature slightly trailing behind some competitors.

Exterior and Safety

The 2023 Polestar 3's exterior seamlessly blends ruggedness with luxury, featuring sophisticated details. Safety is prioritized with five radar modules, five external cameras, and twelve external ultrasonic sensors. Launched a few months ago with a range of up to 300 miles and a starting price of $83,900, the Polestar 3 exemplifies the pinnacle of electric SUV innovation, combining elegant design, advanced technology, and impressive performance.
